Gain the knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care, treatment and training to keep your horse healthy and happy. Join the Arapahoe Community College Equine Training and Management Program in the three-clinic series, Better Health, Better Horse. The Series will cover caring for wounds and lameness in addition to treatments for the most common injuries and ailments. You will learn what to include in your personal Vet/Treatment Kit and when it is best to bring in the professionals. The clinics will provide a clear understanding of the horse’s vital systems and how they work together for wellness, as well as disorders and diseases to watch for. Additionally, participants will learn the principles of physical conditioning and how to design a conditioning plan for specific equine activities. Learn the effects of conditioning on the horse’s systems; muscular, skeletal, respiratory and cardiovascular, along with the importance of intensity, frequency and duration. All clinics will emphasize the welfare of the horse to assure better health and a better horse.
Clinics are held monthly for three consecutive months and students may register and attend individually or sign up for the entire series.
