Starting Over with the Horse

Experience the art of the Vaquero with professional horse trainer and farrier, Kaitlyn Thursby, ACC Equine Management Graduate.  Kaitlyn will be presenting a clinic on “starting over”.  Kaitlyn will present techniques using the time honored and rich traditions of the Spanish California/Nevada style of horsemanship and training, emphasizing that everything we do is for the welfare of the horse.

Join us and delve into the intricate world of equine connection. In this comprehensive clinic, we’ll address fundamental aspects:

  • Various techniques for walking the horse, understanding personal space, and asserting leadership.
  • Delving into the interplay of our own personal energy and its profound impact on equine behavior.
  • Mastery of essential practices including longeing, long lining, ground driving, and desensitization to foster a deeper bond with your horse.

Participants will have the opportunity for hands-on interaction with the horses, allowing for the immediate application of newfound skills. Whether you’re a seasoned equestrian or a novice enthusiast, this clinic offers an enriching journey into the heart of horsemanship. Join us and embark on a path of connection, understanding, and partnership with these majestic creatures.
