Number Confirmed: 3; 
Horse 1: 
Breed: Quarter Horse (QH); Confirmation Date: 1/21/2026; 
Comments: After regulatory testing was performed to meet TAHC requirements, the horses were confirmed EIA positive. The premises has been quarantined and will not be released until the TAHC’s requirements are met. TAHC staff are working closely with the owner to monitor potentially exposed horses and implement biosecurity measures. These are the first confirmed cases of EIA in Texas this year.;

Wilson County, TX

Number Euthanized: 1; 
Comments: Hold order placed on 12/4/25. Quarantines will not be released until TAHC’s requirements are met. TAHC staff work closely with the owners and local veterinarians to monitor potentially exposed horses and implement biosecurity measures.;

Fort Bend County, TX

Number Suspected: Unknown; 
Number Exposed: Unknown; 
Facility Type: Private Facility; 
Comments: Under veterinary care. Mild upper resp signs. Had been to local riding club event.;
