Comments: To date 30 cases have been confirmed by the Texas Animal Health Commission with the last case confirmed Nov. 27, 2025. Five of the submitted cases died or were euthanized. Cases have been identified in the following counties: Montgomery, Lee, McLennan, Ellis, Wise, Jefferson, Grimes, Erath, Harris, Randall, Parker, Hood, Fort Bend, Bell and Wharton.;

Clinical Signs: One horse tested positive for EHM and two suspected for EHV-1 Respiratory;
Comments: One horse attended the WPRA event and developed mild limb ataxia, tested positive for EHV-1 and has recovered. Two other horses that also attended the event developed fever and respiratory signs but were not tested; theses horses also recovered. Three asymptomatic, exposed horses tested negative.;
