Comments: Oklahoma Dept of Agriculture Food & Forestry, Animal Industry Services confirmed a case of Equine Infectious Anemia in a 15-year-old gelding. The positive horse is part of a herd that has no history of prior EIA testing with no horses leaving the premises in at least the past 13 years. The positive horse has been euthanized and the rest of the herd will remain quarantined until all state testing requirements have been met. All owners of equine within 200 yards of the affected herd have been notified.
